Fall 2022 Return of the Figure drawing series

Traditional human figure drawing requires particular set
of skills, intensive training, discipline and dedication. However, for a very
long time figure drawing has been stagnant and constricted by disciplinary
requirements. In times of equity, diversity, accessibility, inclusion, mental
health and technology, human figure requires a fresh perspective. This series
of events will host 5 sessions dedicated to exploring the human figure from alternative
viewpoints, using interdisciplinary methods to discover new properties in studying
the human body in art & design.
The objective of the series is to reconsider the position of the human figure in art & pedagogy and to inspire students to rethink the importance of the human body in their practice.
